The County of San Diego Black Chamber of Commerce (CSDBCC) is hiring an Administrative Assistant. The Administrative Assistant performs a broad range of administrative functions that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of CSDBCC's daily operations.
Responsibilities include and are not limited to:
- Handle general administrative duties, including scheduling, arranging logistics/travel, processing and tracking expense reports and invoices, data entry, depositing checks, maintaining filing systems, and ordering supplies.
- Screen calls, reply to all general incoming emails and maintain strong customer relations.
- Interface cooperatively and effectively with CSDBCC leaders and staff, volunteers, members, donors, vendors, partner organizations and other outside entities.
- Provide support in conjunction with the event coordinator to plan and coordinate special events, programs, webinars and meetings.
- Work closely with the Operations Director to implement various administrative needs for achieving the chamber's goals.
- Draft correspondence and other materials as requested; respond to written and verbal inquiries as directed.
- Prepare, proofread, and edit documents.
- Provide administrative support for the managers' review of applications for intern positions.
- Special projects and other duties as assigned
Skills and Requirements
- Excellent computer literacy
- Highly organized with excellent time management skills; detail-oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously, often under strict deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Reliable and dependable.
- Proven ability to manage details, employ efficient work habits, and overall flexibility
- Must have an ability to work individually on a project or in a team environment
Compensation
- Salary $20/h
- Hybrid work model (3 days from the office 2 days from home)
- $300 Monthly reimbursement to help cover medical insurance premiums
- 3 Weeks paid vacation per year and an extra day per year worked
- 10 paid public holiday per year

The County of San Diego Black Chamber of Commerce (CSDBCC) is hiring a PR & Marketing Coordinator!
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience creating and implementing marketing, advertising, branding, and PR strategies for an organization. We are looking for someone who can successfully juggle multiple competing projects with tight deadlines and that has a passion for our nonprofit mission.
At the CSDBCC we champion equity, inclusion, access and work closely with government organizations to ensure San Diego’s Black voice is heard. Our Mission is to create generational wealth through business enterprise, education, employment, and investment. Our social impact focuses on:
- Closing the economic and educational gap
- Fostering greater financial autonomy
- Increasing college and high school graduation rates
- Increasing participation in community impact and involvement
Responsibilities include and are not limited to:
- Create all traditional and digital marketing materials, campaigns and external communications.
- Create engaging marketing campaigns to ensure high attendance at our events.
- Grow social media following and engagement.
- Constantly keep audience engaged with CSDBCC news, success stories and testimonials through SM, newsletter, email campaigns and website.
- Promote community awareness of the Chamber's mission.
- Promote and market CSDBCC activities and programs to keep our members informed, engaged, and empowered to support our mission.
- Coordinate marketing strategies and tactics (including content calendar, social media, email)
- Track and report metrics.
- Identify media opportunities and write press releases.
- Cultivate relationships with local media figures.
- Stay updated on appropriate style guidelines and brand voice for consistency in messaging.
- Collaborate with team members to continually produce content for website, social media, email, and other channels.
- Regularly report on KPI’s performance, including suggesting enhancements and recommendations that further drive efficiencies on multiple platforms such as Google Analytics, Social Media, Newsletter.
- Manage and cultivate a team of marketing interns/volunteers to support our social media and marketing efforts.
Required Skills:
- Sophisticated understanding of data analysis, reporting.
- Professional experience with Google Suite.
- Excellent Copywriter.
- Killer communicator capable of engaging with all types of audiences, from corporate executives to local entrepreneurs.
- Self-directed enough to work successfully and comfortably in a remote setting, but teamoriented enough to communicate needs and outcomes regarding programming to employees at all levels of the organization.
- Solid understanding of marketing user experience principles.
- Experience working with content management systems, social scheduling and email marketing platforms.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a high-volume workload, often requiring rapid turnaround times.

The County of San Diego Black Chamber of Commerce (CSDBCC) is seeking long term volunteers. We are looking for people with a can-do attitude and a passion for our nonprofit mission!
At CSDBCC we champion equity, inclusion and access. Our mission is to create generational wealth through business enterprise, education, employment, and investment. Our social impact focuses on:
- Closing the economic and educational gap
- Fostering greater financial autonomy
- Increasing college and high school graduation rates
- Increasing participation in community impact and involvement
We are looking for volunteers that can commit for 1, 3, 6 OR 12 months. You will be donating approximately 10 to 15 hours per month.
Needed areas of support:
- Event support (day of and pre-event) - organize and distribute event collateral, prepare event materials, support CSDBCC event VIPs, check-in guests, run auction payments and donations.
- Community Outreach - Perform direct outreach to small businesses focused on the current outreach efforts CSDBCC may be performing via events, calls, emails, and/or face-to-face.
- Help spread the word on what we do in the community - Outreach at CSDBCC networking events, making and sharing social media posts

- Assist team with general marketing needs: assist with the creation of shareable SM posts, monitor and respond to online reviews and feedback on SM platforms, support our marketing team with various projects as needed
- Perform direct outreach to small businesses providing basic information via talking points focused on the current outreach efforts CSDBCC may be performing at the time. (Direct contact includes presentations in meetings, events, phone calls, emails, or face-to-face interaction)
- Provide support for events and programs.
