About the Central San Diego Black Chamber of Commerce
Our vision is to promote the growth of each of our members through cooperative economics. The voice of Black businesses through effective relationships with industry, government, educational and faith-based organizations can advance the mission of CSDBCC; to promote economic exchange, business and civic advancement for monetary stability within the San Diego Black community. It is through these relationships, and subsequent growth, that the Black community can realize a vibrant quality of life in the City of San Diego.

Chairman of the Board
J. Bruce Mayberry is the Senior Diverse Enterprise Advisor, Supply management, for San Diego Gas and Electric (SDG&E). In this position, he is responsible for identifying and introducing contract opportunities to women, minority, service disabled veterans, and LGBT businesses. A former business owner himself, Bruce has held leadership positions such as Corporate Vice President, Executive Lottery Director, Executive Assistant to Arizona Governor, and a Xerox professional. In his role as Chair of the CSDBCC Board, he has been on the front line of helping to build generational wealth in the Black business community through business enterprise, employment, education, and investment. Mr. Mayberry holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Arizona State University.
Ms. Doris Gauff has over 30 years as a Registered Nurse. She is an experienced manager, supervisor, and patient advisor. Ms. Gauff has worked as Licensing Vocational Nurse and has provided leadership as a Registered Nurse. She holds a Master’s Degree in Nursing from Point Loma Nazarene University and a Bachelor’s degree in Science from SDSU. Retiring in 2013, Ms. Gauf is a community leader who is actively involved in business and professional programs that focus on community development and empowerment.
Business owner Boll Weevil Resturant
Brian Wesley is a Principal Test Engineer and the Chair of the African American organization at Solar Turbines Inc. Prior to joining Solar he was an Officer in the United State Navy. Brian earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Prairie View A&M University. He is active in the community and volunteers to promote STEAM programs in San Diego.

Dr. Steven Jones
Dr. Steven Jones is CEO of JONES, a leadership development, diversity, and organizational change consulting firm. He brings over 29 years of growing his business into a successful company making a positive global impact. Dr. Jones leads a dynamic team of highly skilled consultants that provide coaching, consulting and training services with clients such as Toyota, Honda, Qualcomm, Sempra Energy, Solar Turbines, Harvard University, University of San Diego, State University of New York, Francis Parker School, and Sidwell Friends School in Washington, D.C.
Maxine Price is a seasoned and experienced Human Resources professional specializing in Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, Employee Engagement; HR Compliance; Diversity Recruiting and creating Cultures of Inclusion. She is a certified DISC Facilitator and Life/Career Coach and a graduate of the Leadership Southern California Network. She is the Past President of the California Diversity Council San Diego and Past Secretary for the North County HR-SD Board. She has worked with clients such as Boeing, Wells fargo, Pfizer, Mercer, Sodexho, SONY, and Walt Disney Company.
Talent Acquisition Consultant
Cecil Shelton is a Talent Acquisition Manager with Sharp Healthcare. He is a Human Resource Professional with 16 years of progressively responsible experience. Loyal employee with demonstrated leadership qualities rooted in an understanding of organization dynamics and culture. Cecil is committed to building long-standing professional relationships through effective and transparent communication. He holds a passion for community volunteering that develops and mentors inner-city youth.
Jenna Weinman, Ph.D.
Vice-President of Communication
Dr. Jenna Weinman is Principal Consultant at JWC Consulting which offers a range of professional writing and editing services for businesses, organizations, and individuals. Dr. Weinman is a versatile communications professional with two postgraduate degrees in the humanities, exceptional writing, editing, and interpersonal skills, and scholarly expertise in cultural history and critical analysis of mass media.
Vice- President of Youth Development
Gary Edmonds is a dynamic and passionate Social Studies educator at Garfield High School. He teaches His commitment to empowering young people and building learning environments that allow students to thrive in life to achieve their goals and dreams is palpable. He brings over 25 years of engaging young people to reach their highest goals and dream.
